Technimark is committed to practices of sustainability in every area of our business to minimize any impact on the environment. Our goal is to lead the industry in environmental sustainability by operating under environmentally friendly concepts in all areas, and driving innovation to develop new more sustainable products, raw materials and manufacturing plants. Some developmental areas include the following:

• Expanding our internal production and use of recycled resins.
• Developing plastic materials using renewable resources.
• Reducing the use of plastic through thin-wall molding technologies.
• Decreasing our energy use with more efficient manufacturing equipment.

 

Technimark has a dedicated recycling facility for size reduction, sorting, separation and washing. This is combined with a full-service compounding operation that can tailor make the recycled materials to the exact specifications required for use in high-end applications. As part of our compounding operation, Technimark has polymer chemists on staff as well as a full-service raw material testing laboratory that can certify the properties of all of our recycled resins. This unique capability allows Technimark to offer our customers a powerful way to satisfy their needs for sustainability, and it meets Technimark’s goals to reduce our carbon footprint and minimize the environmental impact of plastics.

 

Through our recycling subsidiary Wellmark, Technimark is recycling approximately 35 million pounds of plastic material per year. Almost all of this goes back into products that are molded at Technimark. Many of our recycling programs are full-circle projects where Wellmark collects and recycles waste from a customer and then sends it to Technimark to be molded back into products for their use.
